At parish schools, the head of the parish and school is the parish priest with the principal assisting the parish priest in the administration of the school. Unlike public schools that have a school board that is a managerial board (their votes are binding and must be followed), parish schools have committees that are advisory only. St. Mary's, like most parish schools, has an education and home and school committee. Education Committee The Education Committee helps in fostering the educational aspect of the school and parish's mission.

The Committee raises money to support our students' educational and social opportunities through technology, accelerated reader programs, science programs, high school and post-secondary scholarships, student activities and field trips. The primary fundraisers include:
Home and School Committee members automatically include all parents with children at St. Mary's School, as well as all the teachers. In addition, all other parishioners of St. Mary's are welcome as members. | |
