Hi! My name is Shelly Borchardt. I am excited to be teaching this year at St. Mary's as the 7-8th grade ELA teacher and 6th grade Social Studies teacher. I graduated from UW-Stevens Point with a 1-9 teaching degree. I have taught and substitute taught in Greenwood, Mosinee, Edgar and also homeschooled my three children. I am excited to be able to instill and reinforce Catholicism into my classroom throughout the year in ELA and Social Studies. I am a lifelong Catholic, live in Mosinee and am a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.
Family is very important to me. I have been married for 30 years to Mark Borchardt. My three children are all grown. Luke is living in Portland, Oregon pursuing a doctorate degree in Biochemistry Neurosciences. Emily is married and a Registered Behavioral Technician in Kronenwetter and lives in Stevens Point. Our youngest, Jessica, just acquired her first teaching job in Boyceville, WI as their band and general music teacher. As a complete empty nester except for our two Golden Retrievers, Rose and Caboose, I am excited to continue to share the love of Christ and learning with my students.
My hobbies outside of teaching are reading, gardening, going to music concerts of all kinds (especially my daughter's concerts), baking, fishing, camping, swimming, hiking, snow shoeing, walking my dogs, traveling and being with my family.
I am excited to be joining the St. Mary's school family!
