Theresa Borchardt

I earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with minors in Mathematics Education and Psychology from UW-Stevens Point in 2007.  After graduating I worked as a substitute teacher for the D. C. Everest School District and the Unified School District of Antigo.  Before teaching at St. Mary's I taught eighth grade science as a long-term substitute in Antigo.  I live in Kronenwetter with my husband Dan (who is a graduate of St. Mary's), our daughters, Raelyn and Ansley, our son, Connor.  Besides working at St. Mary's, I was also an adjunct faculty member of Northcentral Technical College for eight years where I worked in the College Prep Center helping students to earn their GED or HSED. Growing up in Wausau and attending the Newman Catholic Schools I am proud to be teaching at St. Mary's and continuing the high standards and faith based learning that Catholic Schools provide.

Luke Jacobson 8th Grade, Physical Education, & Athletic Director

Hi, my name is Paige Koch. I have a variety of teaching responsibilities at St. Mary's, which include 7/8th grade homeroom, 8th grade spelling, 3rd – 8th grade Phy. Ed., and 6th – 8th grade math, along with being the Athletic Director. After graduating from Marathon High School, I continued my education at UW-Marathon County and later received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Mathematics Education at UW-Stevens Point. Before joining St. Mary's in December 2015, I worked in the D.C. Everest and Marathon School Districts.

Family is very important to me, which is why I spend as much time as possible with them. I also enjoy a variety of activities, which include coaching and playing sports, especially volleyball, watching movies and old tv shows, playing with our pups, Grizzly and Dexter, pulling innocent pranks, reading, painting, dancing, and cracking dad jokes.

I really love being at the school I attended and working with lots of different grades. Math has always been a fun subject for me to learn and teach because of the many everyday life applications. As for Phy. Ed., I am very passionate about fitness and want to help others develop a sense of wellness that they will utilize throughout their life! St. Mary's helped shape me into the person I am today, and I hope that by exhibiting core Catholic values I am able to have the same positive impact on my students that my teachers had on me.

Hello! My name is Maria Schroeder. I have always loved learning, and so naturally I became a teacher! I grew up in Ripon, WI and graduated from UW-Eau Claire with an elementary education degree and minor in language arts. The last four years I have been teaching 7th-8th grade English at Columbus Catholic in Marshfield. I greatly valued my own Catholic education in elementary school and am grateful that I can now be a part of a faith-centered community as a teacher.
In my free time, I make a point to enjoy the outdoors! My sister and I go on plenty of hiking/camping trips throughout the summer. We love finding waterfalls, discovering all the historical markers, climbing trees, campfires, and reading in our hammocks! I also love sports. I’ve had the privilege of coaching cross country and track and have enjoyed coaching almost as much as I enjoyed competing!  I’m also a big sports fan and look forward to playing fantasy football each year with my siblings.
I’m looking forward to becoming a part of the St. Mary’s family and have felt incredibly welcomed already. This year, I will be teaching 6th-8th grade social studies, 7th-8th grade literature, and 8th grade English. My hope is that I can instill in my students a love of learning and reading while having a lot of fun together throughout the year.
