Is there anything truly unique about Saint Mary's Catholic School? As you walk through the school building and see the messages on the bulletin boards or hear the instruction inside the classrooms or smell the home-style cooking from the kitchen, you become aware that the faculty and staff of Saint Mary's care for the students and try to create a partnership with parents in the formation and education of their children. Like most Catholic grade schools, Saint Mary's offers a faith-based curriculum where Christian principles are taught and lived. One truly unique characteristic of Saint Mary's School revolves around the commitment of many parishioners with regard to the school. Time, talent, treasure – we are blessed at Saint Mary's because the larger parish family dedicates a good amount of its time, talent and treasure in order to maintain and support the school. So come visit – see the messages, hear the instruction, and smell the cooking. You most probably will find yourself saying, "Wow, what a fantastic school." |
Hi, my name is Deacon Hilts. My family and I moved to Marathon nearly 25 years ago. We immediately felt welcomed and part of the community. Our two daughters attended St. Mary’s and both became teachers, one even taught here for a short time. Our daughters are both married and we have been blessed with five grandchildren. My wife and I live on a small farm south of town where we rotationally graze beef cattle. We are in the process of transitioning the farm to our daughter and son-in-law. |
